Sterne Design was approached by our client through a recommendation from a local structural engineer to assist them with extending their home. Our client was keen to create a structure which not only gave them additional internal space, but also felt true against the existing property ensuring the character and traditional detailing was retained. It was therefore important to develop the brief with our client to ensure the new space would feel an integral part of the building, continuing architectural detailing through into the extension and carefully considering proportions and window placements.
