Single Storey Rear Extension, North Norfolk.

Project Location: Overstrand, North Norfolk

A single storey rear extension located in Overstrand, North Norfolk. The brief was to create a new living room and bedroom extension along the rear elevation which held a close relationship to the outdoors. The new walls have been constructed in red brickwork to match the existing with powder-coated aluminium windows and doors which open out directly into the garden. Internal alterations were also made to ensure the extension felt an integral part of the existing bungalow with a seamless transition between each space.

Produced as part of the sketch scheme to help assist the client with visualising my initial design thoughts and how the extension would interact with the existing.

A photograph of the completed extension, looking towards the build at a similar angle as the original hand sketch above. The new extension provides a fresh contemporary feel for the single storey bungalow although with the use of red brick we were still able to retain a sense of continuity along the side elevation, between the new and old.

An Internal architectural visualisation produced in CAD and presented to the client to provide an understanding of how the internal space could potentially look, during the sketch scheme. At this stage, we are able to review the space again and refine prior to a formal submission to the planning department at North Norfolk.
